Jansen Walsh & Grace

"I have just been charged"

Being charged is very stressful.  We can reduce the stress by reviewing the evidence and providing you with proper representation.

In the Magistrates' Court, the first hearing is usually a mention where you inform the magistrate whether you plead guilty or not guilty.  If you plead guilty, the magistrate may proceed to hear submissions as to the appropriate disposition, eg, sentence.  If you plead not guilty, it will then proceed to a contested hearing at a later date.

What we do

  • Take instructions from you while you are in remand or at court
  • Bail applications in the Magistrates' Court and the County Court
  • Committal hearings in the Magistrates' Court
  • Contested hearings in the Magistrates' Court and trials in the County Court
  • Importation and trafficking offences
  • Possession offences
  • Breach of intervention orders
  • Traffic offences

  • How much does it cost?
  • Cost range from about $2,000 depending whether it is a mention, a plea or a contested hearing.

We appear for you or brief counsel, as you wish.

Our principal has also acted for two different well-known families.
